Recently, I got a call from a Travel Agency for Digital Marketing. They don’t have a website and also they want me to do Digital Marketing for them.

Before going for a meetup on this topic. It is my habit to do some research work about the client and his business.

So, I have done my homework and went to meet the client and discuss the requirements.

My client doesn’t have any website and they want me to design the website for them too.

So, the digital marketing checklist for the travel agency business should consider the following items

Digital Marketing Checklist Items

1. Website:

The first thing, while doing Digital Marketing is to make your website. So, as a Digital Marketer, you should check whether your client is having well design website or not.

If they don’t have a website, then you ask them to make a website.

In my case, my client also wants the website for their Travel Agency business.

I put forward the proposal for a dynamic website with the integration of Digital Marketing tools.

2. SSL certificate:

While working on my Travel Agency Digital Marketing Project. I visited many Travel Agency Websites and found that many of the websites don’t have SSL certificates installed on their websites.

This is very shocking for me because an SSL certificate is given for FREE on many Web Hosting Services like Hostinger. And if you want to purchase also its cost is too low i.e., it cost around Rs. 1000/- to install an SSL certificate on any domain.

SSL certificate is very important for websites because it provides security to you and your customer.

As a digital Marketer, you may know the importance of an SSL certificate. If you don’t know then read more about SSL Certificate here.

Meanwhile, you should know that an SSL certificate is very essential for ranking your website as well as security. So, the second step is to check whether your client has an SSL certificate installed or not.

3. Blog:

For the Organic ranking of the business, blogging is important to every business. And in the case of Travel Agencies, they should have the blog in their niche.

Best Topics For Travel Agency Blogging

A Travel Agency should have a blog on traveling-related topics. Such as

  1. When to Travel Countries
  2. Best Summer vacations regions in the world
  3. Best Beaches in the World
  4. Best Tourist places in their area
  5. Visa requirements for different countries
  6. 10 things to know before visiting X country and more

4. SEO Friendly Content:

The next important thing on Digital Marketing Checklist is SEO-friendly Content. The Travel Agency website should have SEO-Friendly Content. The pages of the website and the blog posts of the website all should optimize for ranking on Google on their niche keywords.

SEO-optimized content is the backbone of every business.

5. Site Audit Report:

Site Audit is of utmost importance for every business. Generally, businesses only want websites for them. And they contact any designer to design a website for them.

But if the website is not up to the mark, then it is nothing but just like your visiting card.

We want the website to grow the business, by attracting organic clients through search engines.

For this, you should have an Audit report for your website.

Site Audit Checklist

The site Audit report is just like a Complete Body Scan or Diagnosis. It scans the whole website and informs you about

  1. Website Speed
  2. On-page SEO
  3. Organic Keywords
  4. Monthly Organic Traffic
  5. Usability
  6. Facebook Pixels installed or not
  7. Google Tag Manager is there or not
  8. Website is Secure or not

6. Website Speed:

Look! No one wants to wait. If you have a Travel Agency, then there are millions of travel agencies present online as well as offline.

While running a Site Audit of a Website, the website Grade is F on GT Metrix. Look how slow the website is. No one waits for seconds for a website to load. You will lose quality traffic from Google.

If you have a slow website, then your prospect can press the back key and visit the other Travel Agency’s website. So, as a Digital Marketer, you should also have an eye on Website Speed.

Because one of the important metrics in Website ranking is its speed. There are many tools online to check website speed like page speed, gtmetrix, etc.

If your website is slow, then your Web site’s bounce rate will be increased.

So, check your client’s website speed and note down the points in which they have to work out.

7. Opt-in Forms:

Traffic is important for any website, but what is more important than traffic is the contact details of the people who visit your website. For this, the Travel Agency website should have Opt-in forms on its home page and landing page.

Opt-in forms Collect the emails, phone numbers, etc., of the prospect. And then the Travel Agent can contact them and convert the leads into buying customers.

8. Contact Forms:

Instead of giving your Contact Details, it is a good practice to have a Contact Form embedded on your Contact us page. By this, you will get the contact details of your Prospect and the Travel Agent can contact the prospect and convert them into a customer.

9. Facebook Pixel and Google Tracking Code

Facebook Pixel is a short code installed on your website. It collects the data that helps you in tracking conversions from Facebook ads and optimizing your Facebook ads.

Likewise, Google Tracking Code is also a short code installed on your website. It also collects the data that helps in tracking conversions from Google Ads and optimizing Google Ads.

You can use Chrome extensions like Facebook Pixel Helper and Tag Assistant Legacy by Google.

10. Landing Page with Form:

Landing Pages are very important for lead generation. The Purpose of a landing page is to encourage the users to take action by filling out a basic opt-in form that includes name, and email address, (and contact number optional).

Every Landing page has a Call to Action (CTA) button, and it doesn’t have any other distractions. So, the consumer has only one thing to do from the page, and it is to give their contact details.

The landing page is other than your home page. The home page has many distractions, so it is not best practice to drive your traffic to the home page.

So, check whether your client is having Landing Page with the form or not. If not suggest they have a landing page with an opt-in form.

11. Social Media Pages and Their integration:

Billions of people are active users of Social Media like Facebook, Instagram, etc., and one of the main sources of traffic to the website is Facebook. Branding of the business is also down by continuous Social Media posts.

So, a Travel Agency should have their Social Media Pages, and they should also integrate their Social Media Pages with the website.

If someone is on your Travel Agency website, then he/she can visit your Social media page, and follow it.

And from Social Media, they will get updates about new packages of your business.

So, Checkout your Client Should have Social Media pages, and they should be integrated with the website.
