Digital Marketing Checklist for Educational Institutions

Do you want to make Digital Marketing Checklist for Educational Institutions?

First thing First,

What is a Digital Marketing Checklist?

A Digital Marketing Checklist is a simple marketing plan that breaks down a marketing initiative into items on a checklist.

That is, it is the number of items a Digital Marketer of Educational Institutions should know before starting Digital Marketing for Educational Institutions.

Why Digital Marketing Checklist is Important?

Making a Digital Marketing Checklist is also a best practice when you as a Digital Marketer are going to meet your client, then you can make the checklist for your Client’s website, and in the meeting, you can put forward that checklist and inform your client regarding the areas in which he has to be strong. And how can you help him in those areas?

By doing this, you can easily impress your client and can go forward with your proposal.

Now, here I will discuss in detail about What are the things you should add to a Digital Marketing Checklist.

While doing my DDIP assignment, I sent cold emails to Educational Institutions. Luckily I got a reply from one of the reputed Educational Institutions for a meetup.

So, before going to meet, I thought to make a checklist about their Institution, and on that basis talk to them in the meetup. So I started analysing his website, social media pages, SEO Audit report etc. Here are the details:

Digital Marketing Checklist Items

1. Website:

The first thing, while doing Digital Marketing is to make your own website. So, as a Digital Marketer, you should check whether your client is having well design website or not?

If they don’t have a website, then you can suggest to make a website, and you only can put forward your proposal at the meetup when the client shows interest.

In my case, the Educational Institution was having its website.

2. SSL certificate:

As a digital Marketer, you may know the importance of an SSL certificate. If you don’t know then google it. Meanwhile, you should know that an SSL certificate is very essential for ranking your website as well as security. So, the next step is to check whether your client has an SSL certificate installed or not. If they don’t have an SSL, then you should ask them to have an SSL certificate.

In my case, the website doesn’t have an SSL certificate.

3. Blog

For content marketing and SEO, every website should have a blog. In the blog, they should answer the FAQs in their niche, as well as they should write content related to their niche. In the case of educational institutions, as I wrote previously in How to do Digital Marketing for Educational institutions, they should write blogs informing students and their parents.

For example: What after 10th etc. you can read in detail in my previous article.

In my case, the client doesn’t have a blog on their website. Look, blogging is very important when it comes to SEO and content marketing. You should ask your client to have a blog on his website.

4. SEO Friendly Content :

The next step is to check whether your client is having SEO friendly content on his website or not? You can take the help of online free tools also. But you should go through his website, and you can know-how is the content there. If you don’t know about SEO content, then here is my article How to Write SEO-friendly content.

In my case, the client’s website is not SEO Friendly.

5. Site Audit Report:

This is one of the important steps, you should run and have a Site Audit Report. Look, previously I don’t know about Site Audit Report. But one Digital Marketing Agency reached out to me some months before, regarding one of my websites and they mail me an Audit Report of My website.

When I saw the audit report attached, I read it multiple times, to understand it.

So when I was making Digital Marketing Checklist for my client, then I google Site Audit Report online, and then I got 2-3 websites on the first page, they are giving free audit reports with recommendations 1 a day. So, I ran the audit report for my website as well as for my client’s website. And I save the screenshots.

Definitely, in future, I will purchase the Site Audit Report premium plan because it is helpful to me and my clients.

6. Website Speed:

One of the important metrics in Website ranking is Website speed. There are many tools online to check website speed like page speed, gtmetrix etc.

If your website is slow, then your Website’s bounce rate will be increased.

So check your client’s website speed and note down the points in which they have to work out.

6. Opt-in Forms:

Opt-in forms are very important for a digital marketer to collect emails. So the next item in the Digital Marketing checklist is Optin forms. Check whether your client website is having Optin forms or not.

In my case, my client doesn’t have any opt-in forms.

7. Contact Forms:

Contact forms are the basic forms, which are embedded on the contact us page or at the end of the home page. Check whether your client’s website is having Contact form or not. And check whether it is well structured or not?

In my case, my client was having Contact forms.

8. Facebook Pixel and Google Tracking Code

The next step is to check whether your client’s website is having Facebook Pixel and Google Tracking code installed on it. You can use Chrome extensions like Facebook Pixel Helper and Tag Assistant Legacy by Google.

Facebook Pixel is a short code installed on your website. It collects the data that helps you in tracking conversions from Facebook ads and optimizing your Facebook ads.

9. Landing Page with Form:

Landing Pages are very important for lead generation. The purpose of a landing page is to encourage users to take action by filling out a basic opt-in form which includes their name, and email address, (contact number optional).

The landing page is other than your home page. The home page has many distractions, so it is not best practice to drive your traffic to the home page.

On the other hand, landing pages don’t have distractions, they have a form with a call to action.

So, check whether your client is having Landing Page with the form or not. If not suggest they have a landing page with form/.

10. Social Media Pages and Their integration:

The next important step in Digital Marketing Checklist is to check whether your client is having social media pages with the same name as their business (In my case Educational Institutions) like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, LinkedIn etc.,

Also, check whether they are posting updates on social media regularly or not. As We are discussing educational institutions then many parents of your students will be on social media and if you post their child’s activity they will share it on their social media handles. This will also increase your branding.

Check whether all the social media connected to the website as well as the website is connected to social media.

Professional Email Address:

Email is very important when it comes to business discussions. A professional email increases the brand’s trust in customers. So check whether your Client has a Professional email address.

Look it is always better to have info@bajraionline.com instead of bajraionline@gmail.com

Testimonials and reviews:

Testimonials build the trust of people in your business. As testimonials come from an unbiased third party who used your services, it will build the trust of other people in your Product or services.

So, testimonials are very important, and if you are Digital Marketer then everyone read reviews and testimonials before using any service or product.

As an Educational institution, your client should have many reviews on their website. If it is not there then you should ask them to include it.

Email list:

For Drip Marketing, lead nurturing, and marketing automation educational institutions should have the email addresses of their potential clients (here Parents or Students).

So check whether the client is having an email list.
You can guess, that they are having an email list if they have opt-in forms. Else, there might not have an email list. It’s best to ask your client about it.
